Blog Holiday

I thought I should explain my blog silence Edna readers. I've had my baby! She was born on Wednesday 13th July and it was all a bit eventful and we have been in hospital for a week. We're home now but obviously in the thick of looking after a new baby and days are just disappearing and my fashion choices are restricted to whether to change out of my bathrobe into leggings and a t-shirt!

I will return to my Edna blog at some point in the summer...but it may be a few weeks or a month or so before I have any fashion musings at all!

Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog over the past year...and hopefully see you again in a few weeks time!

Topshop shoes temptations!

If you don’t want any temptation to spend money, then don’t read today’s blog...

Otherwise get ready to crack open your purse because Topshop have the most incredible collection of shoes in store at the moment.

I’ve already given myself a firm talking to this morning so that I don’t buy the heart print ballet pumps and gold heeled ankle boots!

I love the primness of the heeled ballet pumps and think they'd look great with ankle skimming trousers or jeans. And the gold heeled ankle boots will work come the long winter months with dresses and skirts, toughening them up...with just a hint of disco!

My Wardrobe at 70% Off!

I'm now over nine month's pregnant, getting impatient and grumpy, spending lots of time at home...and hence massively vulnerable to the lure of online sales shopping! So far I've managed to resist...but the temptations are huge, particularly as the reductions get bigger.

My Wardrobe have great sales and at this stage have knocked 70% off lots of items. It's definitely worth having a look at the site if you fancy a treat - sales items still aren't dirt cheap but they are massively reduced.

These have caught my eye this week...and have at least 60% knocked off the (sometimes utterly insane) full price.

Bloch patent lace-up jazz shoes - £42 (down from £143)

Rag & Bone shirt - £49 (down from £165)

House of Harlow 1960 jewelled sandals - £67 (down from £225)

Winter Kate flying fox crochet blouse - £82 (down from £206)

Double Dress Action

I have been lusting after lots this past week...and wondering why I ever, ever buy anything full price! There are so many great bargains in the sales...especially if you’re happy to do your sales shopping online where there is always a much bigger range of stock than in stores.

Two dresses have particularly caught my fancy...both designer collaboration ranges on the high street. They’re very different but I couldn’t choose between them, so I have a double lust item of the week.

Styling Cath Kidson Floral

A couple of months ago, I blogged about a lovely new pair of summer shoes which Mr W had bought for me. Star print espadrilles from Cath Kidson which have enough height that I feel like I’m at least giving an attempt at wearing heels, amazingly well-made, comfortable and very cute too!

I spotted at the time that they also made the same espadrilles in a classic Cath Kidson floral print...and vowed that if they went into the sale I’d give some serious thought to buying them. They are in the sale Edna readers!

Cath Kidson folk ditsy espadrilles - £24 (down from £48)

Floral can be difficult...it slips so easily into twee, or old lady, or a super attractive combination of both! And I think these shoes are a little twee...I’d prefer them if the floral print was against a black background. But I still think they’d be worth buying and would get lots of wear if styled properly. If teamed with one of my ‘old lady tea dresses’ (as Mr W kindly calls them) then these shoes would be a definite fashion fail. But if you can choose outfits that tone down the floral, or give it an edge by clashing it with other prints, then I think these would look great.

These are some of the outfits I think would work well.

French Connection striped maxi dress - £62 (was on sale on French Connection’s own site but has completely sold out...so here full price on Asos); Lola Rose Nancy necklace - £26 (down from £52); Pied a Terre Stella contrast trim tote bag – £87.50 (down from £175)

Oasis knee length pleated skirt - £48; Franche Lippee for Uniqlo t-shirt - £6.99 (down from £12.99); Label Lab multi-pocket cross body bag - £28.50 (down from £95)
