One of the things I enjoy most at the weekend is being able to having a relaxing morning, reading the weekend papers and drinking tea. As much as I would love to say that I’m straight into the serious news, the first thing I actually go to is the magazine and the fashion pages!
In today’s Observer, the fashion pages featured the “best pre-collection dresses for A/W 2010”, with some really gorgeous dresses, such as a goose print dress from Moschino Cheap & Chic, and a polka dot dress from Dolce & Gabbana.
But as you can probably guess from the designer names, none of them were cheap...not even close! The lowest price dress was £357! I know the idea of what constitutes expensive varies from woman to woman but I do wonder about the Observer’s perception of its readership if they think that these price levels are reflective of our purchasing power! Maybe I need to downgrade my weekend’s reading...perhaps to the Sun?!
At the very least, I think it would have been nice to see a mixture of prices, so that there are also dresses under the £100 mark...which I could imagine buying!
So for Edna’s readers, here are some great dresses for A/W 2010, all at under £100!
Oli ruffle wrap dress - £38
Pearl Lowe floral dress - £40
Oasis 60s bow shift red dress - £50
Topshop watercolour mix dress - £65
Cos black dress - £89
Chica fresh cherry dress – 94 euros (I guess roughly the same in £)
Celia Birtwell for John Lewis pussybow silk dress - £99
